$750 Million Appalachian Mountain Resort Planned 50 Miles From New York City
National Real Estate Investor, April 1, 2005

Intrawest is developing Mountain Creek Resort, a $750 million, mixed-used property featuring four seasons of recreational activities just south of New York City in the mountains of New Jersey. The community features 65,000 sq. ft. of commercial space, 1,700 resort condos ranging from studio to three-bedroom, an 85,000 sq. ft. conference facility and a luxury spa. Sitting atop a 1,040-foot mountain, the resort is also home to New Jersey's largest water park, extensive hiking and biking trails, and golf courses. To complement the winter season, the resort invested $60 million into operations and on-hill improvements for its 46 trails and 11 ski lifts. While the resort currently draws visitors from the entire tri-state region, it has gained recognition nationally for its outstanding winter sports facilities, including night skiing and Olympic training facilities. The first phase of the mountain village development, the Appalachian Hotel, is expected to open this spring.
